Falsini, Feudo Pignatone, Davanti Casa, Etna Rosso 2021
Emiliano Falsini’s Etna Rosso “Contrada Feudo Pignatone” is a tiny-production gem (just 1,060 bottles!) from the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna. Made from 100% Nerello Mascalese grown at 700 meters on ancient vines—some up to 100 years old—this wine is as elegant as it is expressive.
It ferments naturally with a touch of whole clusters and ages in new oak for 10 months, resulting in a pale, Pinot-like red that bursts with wild strawberry, cherry pit, herbs, and tea leaf. Silky tannins and lifted acidity make it incredibly food-friendly—though it practically begs for a plate of grilled lamb chops. A young project with serious soul and aging potential.
