Francois & Fils 'Rozier' Cote-Rotie 2020
This Côte-Rôtie is a powerful, mineral-charged Syrah from the steep, mica-rich schist soils of the Rozier parcel in the Côte Brune. The wine is made from old vines, all hand-harvested. The fruit is partially destemmed, fermented in stainless steel before ageing 23 months in barrel (~15% new), giving it structure without losing its freshness.
On the nose, you’ll find dark fruit—blackberry, black olive—plus smoky, meaty notes and a hint of bacon fat. The palate is rich and layered, with firm but well-integrated tannins, dark fruit, and a mineral finish that echoes the schist terroir.
Pair with roast lamb, Provençal stews, or grilled game—bold but elegant fare that complements the wine’s structure.
