Ostatu Rosado Rioja Alavesa 2024

$22.00

This Spanish rosé from Rioja Alavesa has real personality—refreshing, mountain-born, and anything but an afterthought. Made from 70% Tempranillo, 27% Garnacha, and a splash of Viura, the grapes come from some of Ostatu’s oldest, highest-elevation vineyards near the village of Samaniego in the Sierra de Cantabria mountains (600–650m), right where Atlantic and Mediterranean climates collide. This clash of influences gives the wine its bright energy and elegant structure.

Certified organic and carbon neutral, the wine is crafted with care: hand-harvested fruit is gently pressed, given a short maceration, and fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel at cool temperatures. It rests 37 days on the lees, bringing extra texture and depth, before a light filtration and bottling.

In the glass, it’s pale pink but full of life—crisp red berries, citrus, and a subtle floral lift balanced by stony minerality and a refreshing finish. It’s light enough to sip as an aperitif but has enough backbone to shine alongside tapas, grilled fish, summer salads, or charcuterie.
