Querceto di Castellina 'L'Aura' Chianti Classico 2022
This is Querceto’s flagship red—100% Sangiovese—born from the clay-limestone soils of Castellina in the heart of Tuscany. Jacopo and Filippo Di Battista dedicated this wine to their mother, Laura.
The wine is organic, hand-harvested, and fermented with care in stainless steel (25-day maceration). It then ages for 12 months in 500 Liter French barrels, followed by 3 months in bottle before release.
In the glass it shows medium ruby red, with a fresh floral nose, red cherry and strawberry notes, touches of herbs, and balanced structure. The palate is versatile and well-balanced with medium tannins and lively acidity.
Pair it with salumi, pasta with ragù, roasted or grilled beef—classic Tuscan fare that lets the wine shine.
