Stamnaki Assyrtiko Peloponnese Greece 2024
From vines planted in 1992 at around 450 meter altitude on clay/rock soils in the Peloponnese, this Assyrtiko comes from a modest-yielding vineyard, farmed with minimal intervention and hand-harvested by family growers.
The winemaking is clean and simple: grapes are direct-pressed (no maceration), cold-stabilized, then fermented in stainless steel at cool temperature over 20 days, with no malolactic fermentation.
In the glass, Stamnaki offers a refreshing twist on Assyrtiko — bright acidity, a vibrant profile of green apple, ripe lemon, melon and a hint of saline-mineral freshness. Compared to many Greek whites, this one leans juicier and fruitier, with a light body and clean, crisp finish.
Enjoy with shellfish, oysters, light fish dishes, Greek-style salads with feta and lemon, or any Mediterranean mezze that benefits from zingy acidity and minerality.
