Veuve Fourny & Fils Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru Extra Brut NV

$64.00

This Blanc de Blancs is a beautifully crafted, terroir-expressive grower Champagne from the Côte des Blancs village of Vertus — a Premier Cru site in Champagne where chalky soils and careful viticulture shape its elegant personality.

This Extra Brut cuvée is made from 100% Chardonnay sourced from 40+ year old vines, the base year is 2019 with a good proportion of reserve wines going back to 2016 for added depth. Approximately a quarter of the cuvée undergoes malolactic fermentation, and it spends about 24 months on the lees before release, giving it weight and complexity without losing vibrancy. The dosage is kept low (around 6 g/L), letting freshness and minerality shine.

In the glass you’ll find bright citrus, white flowers, and subtle brioche nuances from lees aging, all framed by fine, persistent bubbles and a chalk-driven saline edge that’s a hallmark of Vertus terroir.

It’s a delight as an aperitif, but also pairs beautifully with oysters, crudo, sashimi, or fresh chèvre!
