Pataille, Pinot Noir, Bourgogne Rouge 2022
Sylvain Pataille’s 2022 Bourgogne Rouge is a beautifully refined Pinot Noir, from perhaps the greatest advocate for his terroir of Marsannay at the very north of the Côte d’Or, on the steps of Dijon.
From vines planted in 1956 in Marsannay, the organically grown grapes undergo gentle, indigenous yeast fermentation with partial whole clusters, followed by 12 months in barrel (15% new), with minimal sulfur and just a light filtration—no fining.
The wine delivers soft red cherry and raspberry notes, delicate spice, silky tannins, and a fresh, mineral core—an elegant Burgundy that speaks of its terroir. At around 13% ABV, it's an easy-drinking gem now through about 2028, and a perfect match for roast chicken, mushroom risotto, or coq au vin.
In short: smooth, subtle, and utterly charming—your new go‑to Burgundy for a cozy midweek dinner.
